Owe Book — Terms of Use

Effective date: July 4, 2026

These terms govern your use of the Owe Book iOS app. In short: Owe Book is a private notebook for tracking who owes what — not a bank, lender, or payment service. The debts you record are between you and other people, not with us.

1. Agreement

These Terms of Use are a legal agreement between you and Abdullah Al Hadi (publishing as Mukashi) ("we", "us"), governing your use of the Owe Book app. By using the app you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

2. What Owe Book is (and isn't)

Owe Book is a personal record-keeping tool for noting informal lending and borrowing so you don't have to rely on memory. It is not a bank, lender, credit provider, payment processor, escrow, or debt-collection service, and it does not move money. Owe Book is not a party to any debt you record — those obligations exist solely between you and the other person. We do not verify, guarantee, or enforce them, and we take no responsibility for whether anyone repays anyone.

3. Eligibility & licence

You must be at least 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent where you live) and able to form a binding contract. We grant you a personal, limited, non-transferable, revocable licence to use one copy of the app on Apple devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, under the App Store Terms of Service. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, resell, or sublicense the app except where the law permits despite this restriction.

4. Owe Book Pro & payments

Owe Book is free to use. Owe Book Pro is an optional one-time in-app purchase (a non-consumable) that unlocks extra features; the included features may change over time. Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store under the Apple Media Services Terms. You can restore Pro on your devices with "Restore Purchases." Refunds are handled by Apple, not us — request them at reportaproblem.apple.com. Owe Book Pro is not a subscription and does not renew.

5. Your content & responsibilities

Your ledger — the people, amounts, notes, and images you record — is your content, stored on your device and your own iCloud (see the Privacy Policy). You are responsible for the accuracy of what you record, for having the right to store any information you add about other people and using it lawfully, for keeping your device and Apple Account secure, and for your own backups. Owe Book does arithmetic on the numbers you enter but cannot know whether they are correct.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the app for any unlawful purpose (including fraud, money laundering, or harassment), not to record or share others' information in violation of their privacy or the law, and not to interfere with, disrupt, or attempt unauthorised access to the app or its systems.

7. No financial or legal advice

Owe Book is provided for personal record-keeping only. Nothing in the app is financial, accounting, tax, or legal advice. For advice about your situation, consult a qualified professional.

8. Disclaimer & limitation of liability

The app is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data will always be preserved or synced without loss — keep your own records of anything important. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from a debt you tracked using the app; our total liability will not exceed the greater of what you paid for Owe Book Pro in the prior 12 months or USD 10. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain exclusions, so parts of this may not apply to you.

9. Termination & changes

You may stop using the app any time by deleting it. We may suspend access if you materially breach these terms. We may add, change, or remove features, and may update these terms; material changes will be noted in the app's release notes, and continued use means you accept the revised terms. Sections that should survive termination (intellectual property, disclaimers, liability) continue to apply.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Bangladesh, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and the courts of Bangladesh have exclusive jurisdiction — except where mandatory local consumer-protection law lets you bring proceedings in your country of residence.

11. App Store (Apple) terms

Because you obtained Owe Book through Apple's App Store: these terms are between you and us, not Apple, and Apple is not responsible for the app; Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support; if the app fails to conform to any warranty you may notify Apple, who may refund the purchase price, and Apple has no other warranty obligation; we (not Apple) are responsible for any product-liability, legal-compliance, or intellectual-property claims relating to the app; you confirm you are not in a U.S.-embargoed or prohibited-party jurisdiction; and Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
